Finally. The age-old argument about whether wine or beer goes best with Christmas dinner can be banished. The answer is both!
Our latest Vines & Bines collaboration with our neighbours and Alberta's first urban winery - City & Country Winery and Tasting Bar – is a rich and sumptuous Pinot Noir stout.
From the vines come the grapes, from the bines the hops. We started with a decadent stout displaying dark chocolate and roasted notes and blended in Pinot Noir grape juice from a charming family estate winery in the Niagara-on-the-Lake wine region in Ontario. It pours a thick black and instantly smells like berry chocolate and lightly roasted coffee beans.
It comes in a can, but you may want to pour this into a big old Burgundy glass and admire the changing aromas as it slowly warms. Santé!
