a really excellent brew, and a perfect name for a coffee stout, which is what this is. nicely done overall, this was my favorite of the three beers i had in here. smooth and creamy looking brew, with a thick tan head on it than never fades, and a silky soft black body with good viscosity. aroma is roasted and simple, earthy, wintery, without any apparent caramel sweet malts to balance it, almost but not quite burnt. the coffee has a lot of nuance, and is boldly dosed in this, with subtle toffee, raisin, and vanilla notes to it, as well as a bit of dark chocolate in the aroma and the flavor, its warming even though its cold brew, and it really works for me. the roast on both the grain and the coffee is dark, lots of depth, and they go together extremely well. the oats give it a pillowy but fuller feel, and also cream up the coffee a little bit, i taste like an oat milk latte or something in the background here. hints of almond and char at the end, quite good! the texture is velvet, and the finish is dry, a wonderful sipper on a chilly, rainy night. impressive example of the style, great use of the coffee, expertly done!
