clever name for a beer here, a phonetic play on cerveza, this is a mexican lager with some lime zest. the fact that its plural too makes sense, as this is a definite warm weather session brew. nice clear color, looks like a helles as its listed here, some sparkle and a steady tall white head. it smells a little sweet, earthy and kind of rustic too, corn in the mix for sure, not with too much lime but fresh and clean there, and very summery to me, seems to be the perfect companion to the spicy thai food i ordered it with! nose has some more european than mexican lager yeast strain to me, bready and crackery, not as fruity, but well deployed and crisping for sure. the lime is real, zippy to my senses, and helps the finish pop in the absence of much hops, maybe a little noble spice there, but its minimal, lets the corn do some walking late, i like that element being appreciable in the style. clean overall, which a lot of these are not, the lime is not a perfume, its not cheap or forced, and the base lager is objectively quite good. fine carbonation, and indeed right on with the spicy food. its been a few years since i had a beer from these guys, and i was impressed with this. lots of lime lagers out there now, but this seems at least a half step better than most.
