A Christmas beer from 2023 that was drunk in July 2024.
L: Opaque, dark honey coloured in the glass with a thin, dirty white head. There's no visible carbonation in the glass.
S: Very strong notes of generic tart sourness, but nothing stands out as a defined aroma.
T: Very tart, like underripe fruit from a tree, or even crab apples, if you've ever been unfortunate enough to eat one of them. There's a hint of dark honey retronasally and even a touch of harsh bitterness at the end, presumably more from the honey than any hop load. Ultimately, however, the tartness overrides all and makes this one a sipper because mouthfuls any bigger than that would be too puckering. The finish is very long and very tart.
M: The beer is quite prickly and carbonated in the mouth, far more so than is evident from the visuals.
O: I didn't enjoy this; it was simply too sour, and the honey note from the barrels that the beer was aged in gave the beer a bitterness that didn't sit well with the overall tartness of the beer.
Cheers!

We love reviews (150 characters or more)! Check out: How to Review a Beer. You don't need to get fancy. Drop some thoughts on the beer's attributes (look, smell, taste, feel) plus your overall impression. Something that backs up your rating and helps others. Thanks!
