Super dark pour, an obvious amount of amber, biscuit, and caramel malt here. Very rusty. Probably up to 40% specialty malt in the bill. Small creamy head of 1/2 finger.
Aroma is like sweet blueberry cobbler (where did they get their Mosaic hops?), with faint hints of banana and tangerine peel and bready malt.
Flavor is pretty impressive. This one brings a lot of blueberry to the front, with supplemental sweet orange peels and suggestions of papaya. I could even say some honey as well. It is likewise a palate buster just like their other IPAs, so expect some tongue scrubbing. It's definitely an old school IPA meets fruit bomb.
Feel is huge and resiny and full. A moderate amount of alcohol heat. Sticky all the way to the bank. Resiny, dry hot finish.
Overall a pretty good IIPA (it's marketed as an IPA but drinks like a double) that borders on a Barleywine and sticks around quite awhile. It's obvious the brewer(s) are huge fans of west coast/old school IPA formulas here.
