Got this at the NuBeerBar in Prague. Cheers!
From a 500ml can into a pint glass.
APPEARANCE: Pours out clear dark brown and yields a small, tan head with decent retention. Quickly fades to a faint wisp and ring. Black body with no real carbonation evident. Splotchy wisp remains leaving touches of lacing on the glass.
SMELL: Plenty of roasted coffee and burnt chocolate on the nose. Some light vanilla aromas with touches of butterscotch. Good stuff. Classic Irish stout nose.
TASTE: Plenty roasted up front, with coffee flavors and some milk chocolate as well. Bolder finish of roasted and burnt malts, bitter coffee, some light chocolate and hints of vanilla lingering on the palate. Plenty roasted with a good punch of bitterness.
PALATE: Medium body and medium carbonation. Creamy enough on the palate, goes down fine and finishes a bit dry. Some bitterness lingers.
OVERALL: Good stuff. This brewery’s lineup has been impressive so far. We tried quite a few at the bar and I grabbed a few to go. If you’re in Prague and you have access, I highly recommend checking them out. This Irish stout fits the bill. Cheers!
