Strawberry Kolsch

very cool beer here, so much strawberry in it that i thought they might blend it in when they pour the beer, like not actually brew with it, but the waitress said otherwise. pretty impressive stuff really, like there are seeds and some berry pulp in the glass, its pink and thicker and cloudier than kolsch should be, but it all appears to be very natural, smells jammy and ripe, summer and sweet. the flavor is great, strawberry driven for sure, but i am surprised how much of the kolsch comes through still, german malty, crisp even for being so fruity, and the yeast is right, like im sure this would be good on its own. i get light clover type herbal notes along with some minerals in the water, its smart. the berries are intense, sweet but real, and it certainly makes this unique, more fruit than i have known in the style before, not sure this would package up to well, but its fun on tap at the brewery where freshness can be assured. it has a light citrus thing too, hangs on the palate awhile, is drinkable despite not being as refreshing as a plain kolsch would be, but the fruit is what makes this for us, unique take on the style, very well executed, i appreciate the boldness!
