these guys are killing it right now, i loved this one! a simple construction on the grain side, fermented clean and neutral, its all about the layers of awesome hops here, a way cool and uncommon combination of centennial, bravo, pink, vista, and motueka, wow! light golden beer and sort of unassuming looking, average white head, decent clarity, unremarkable visually other than that its rather pale, clearly not loaded down with crystal malt and thus a littler more new school. the aroma is beautiful, the fruity pink hops come out in front of the others, red berries and even like a watermelon candy note, but i get red florals too, piney centennial, springtime herbal nuances, light spiciness and bitterness too, green melon, quite the bouquet here, light grain balance but out of the way, some dankness, very compelling. the flavor is just as good, all the hops are appreciable i think, maybe not specifically, but this is unique enough that the combination resonates as original yet with some recognizable elements, the pink though really pops, maybe because its new, and because its so distinctive on its own, but its contribution is obvious and the fruitiness it brings it great, berries for sure, behind that this is weedy with notes of verbena, green tea, pineapple, and honeydew, just a little sweetness from the grain in the middle fits well, bitterness is tempered too, so its rather approachable and sessionable, no real bite at all. medium bodied, slightly oily on the palate, a little citrus pop in there as it warms, just delicious. i was super impressed with all the beers i had from these guys recently over a couple of days. they dont get enough attention. this is great ipa, a wicked hop combo!
