This is the Wichita Brewing Co. batch of this recipe, recently launched in Kansas In February. Expiry date July 2025
Look:
Hazy, milky yellow as expected, foamy head that lasts and laces well.
Sniff:
Strong fruit (mostly grapefruit) and herbal, slight hints of basil, dill and pepper, Slight bread yeast and crackers.
Sip:
Clean, fruity and refreshing. What you would expect from the style
Swish:
Wow. Light, easy mouthfeel, slight pucker from all the late-added hops, 6% ABV is well hidden. I would have thought this was no higher then 4.7%
Think:
This style is not my jam, but if it has flavors I like otherwise and it is balanced I can appreciate it. I certainly like what they did with the recipe in Wichita.

did not care for this one, had some nice graininess and breard notes, but none of that hazy juiceiness, not sure why this is billed as a hazy at all.

Picked this up at Gary’s in Madison a few weeks back, as I never had this before. Was lucky enough to meet Kelsey when Faith American was launched 4 1/2 years ago and finally, they have a New England IPA that’s just as fun and easygoing as their other offerings!
Dark golden and hazy, this had a moderate head that settled somewhat quickly as it was a bit darker than I would have liked. A few spotty suds remained down the side of my pint glass, although the liquid was thicker than that would have indicated. Not a strong aroma as this had hints of wild blueberry, grass, and the possible presence of Mosaic or Galaxy. Dank, full-bodied, and with just enough carbonation, the taste was on par with the nose. Some swamp, turbid mango, fruit cocktail, and alcohol could all be faintly detected once this warmed up, as everything gently faded away after the last sip.
Just a bit slick on my teeth, this also had a minute amount of sediment, although this never felt old. That begs the question of why there wasn’t a date on the bottom of the can, as it would have complemented the beautiful label quite nicely.
Saw a can of this during a promo for the new season of Frasier and I’m glad that he’s still promoting these beers in this neck of the woods. A bit more flavor would really take this up a notch or two!
