pours inky black in color. Very intense peat smoke, a little licoricey in both the aroma and taste. No mistaking what kind of barrel was used. full bodied.

This beer is as advertised. The peat is there in large quantities, without any bandaid notes though. If you are not into peaty scotch you may be thinking WTF is this thing but then again WTF did you buy it if you don't like peated whiskeys? This is very nicely executed stout from a place that you don't typically associate with interesting barrel aging.
