18oz glass at the downtown YEG brewpub.
This beer appears a murky, medium apricot amber colour with one finger of wispy and puffy off-white head, which leaves a bit of streaky lace around the glass as it quickly abates.
It smells of bready and doughy caramel malt, passionfruit, ethereal peach juice, sour vinegar,a musty earthiness, and very tame leafy, herbal, and dead floral hoppiness. The taste is gritty and grainy pale malt, mixed dark exotic fruitiness, simple earthy yeastiness, and more weak earthy, musty, and leafy dead hop bitters.
The carbonation is adequate in its palate-pleasing frothiness the body a solid middleweight and mostly smooth, with nothing really getting in the way of a good time here. It finishes trending dry, which doesn't really warrant further explanation.
Overall - the exuberant excitement from the waitress over this rotational offering aside, it is indeed rather enjoyable. Worth seeking out come summertime, should that actually come to pass.
