Comes in a standard brown half liter bottle, with a fairly plain label. Studenoye means "cold", zreloye means "ripe". Makes me think this is an ice beer. Ingredients include rice and sugar. Best before 8/17/03, I opened it on 7/28/03.
Poured a clear reddish gold under a thin off white head that faded quickly, leaving a bit of collar, but no lace. The nose is smooth and malty. The mouth, though, was sweet and a bit flat. The initial taste was very malty, wiht a touch of sweetness. This was followed by a decent hoppy bit. The aftertaste went back to the sweet malt. This is not a bad beer, despite the adjuncts. I had to mark it down for drinkability, however, given that I had only one, but nevertheless woke up the next morning with the kind of headache you get only from drinking too much sweet champagne.
