This is the largest brewery I have ever attended, two floors, wide-ranging space, decent sized bar, I can tell you it was an impressive sight to see outside as it was insight. The service was the best service I have had to date at a brewery, it was entertaining, informative, as it was attentive. I enjoyed a couple of their beers and their Hawaiian Poke Bowl - it was absolutely delicious. This is a definite stop if you get to Vero...

Situated in a historical power plant, American Icon is an impressive beast of a brewery which immerses the customer in good times and fun vibes while coming up just short on high quality craft beer.
Vibe: Let me start by saying that WHEN IN VERO, you can't be too picky cause there's not a heck of a lot beerwise. That said, vibe is where AI excels. Beautiful building, seemingly always bumping, trains pass by, positive attitudes from servers. Oh, and HALF PRICE BEERS on happy hour. This, my friends, cannot be beat.. especially when crushing their serviceable hefe on a hot FL day!
Quality: This is 1998 chain brewpub beer at its finest. Yes, there is a hazy IPA and you'll see a sour or two, but the core of the menu is that "one light, one dark, one hoppy, one malty, one wheaty" ethos from your rock bottom/BJ's former lifestyle. I've had actively bad beer from the limited release selections, but i'd say their experimentation is at least 50% successful.. and the core beers are usually pretty good (if not interesting) but MAN something is wrong with their WCIPAs
Service: Bartenders are great. There is one bartender I see maybe once every 6-12 months, yet she remembers me without fail. Table servers are a little more industry standard (think Chili's) .. but I'm a bar guy. I also really enjoy seeing the same people year-in and year-out, which means they are treated well (or just trapped).
Selection: If the selection is decent but only half the beers taste good, how do you rate?
Food: Basic boring overpriced sysco frozen whatever
Overall: It's hard not to be negative when this place has such potential but would rather sell french fries and appletini shots than create a destination for craft beer. Still, half-price hefeweizen in a cool, old power plant is something worth doing when in Vero.
