Purchased fresh from the brewery on 4/22/22

New Zealand Pilsner brewed with Peter and his Bees local honey, dry-hopped with Motueka and Riwaka.
In collaboration with Bent Water Brewery
Look: Clear and sparkling gold with a classic, robust foam cap that is solid white and remains high for a long while.
Nose: A rather funky, herbal and grainy scent, spelt or some other dark grain is detected..maybe it's from the two unique hop stains, especially Riwaka?! Smells like multi grain crackers and a hint of the honey.
Feel & Flavor: The cracker and grains turn into more of an herbal, spice and golden maltiness in the flavor. Crisp and crunchy, with a very interesting hop flavor that may very well account for the herbal, cracker, multi grain effect. The honey is very subtle, as the grain bill is very tasty and complex. The feel is very light and gentle but the complexity is pretty high.
Overall: Very unique with it's grainy and herbal flavors from the hops. Balance is decent but it's the unique aroma and flavor that I find most intriguing. I can see where some BA's might not dig the unique aspects within the Pilsner style, but I'm giving bonus points for it's unique characteristics.
