Presentation: 12 oz. can with no dates. Served in a tulip glass.
Appearance: The dense, half finger head stays around for a while and leaves behind a thin ring and a lot of lacing that covers the entire glass. It's a murky, opaque straw color.
Smell: There's some faint fruity aromas of papaya, melon and a hint of orange with some grain in the background as well.
Taste: It's juicy and fruity with notes of orange, melon and papaya. Then there's a warm grainy flavor and it finishes with an earthy, hop resin flavor that comes through in the aftertaste with a slight hint of bitterness and some alcohol as well.
Mouthfeel: It's smooth and very creamy but there's still some crispness from the medium-high carbonation. There's no chalkiness and it's not cloying at all.
Overall: A soft and juicy New England-style DIPA that hits harder than the 8.2% ABV would suggest. 12 oz. cans is definitely the right serving size as anything bigger would get out of hand really quick.
