Originally reviewed on May 7, 2006. On tap at the brewpub. Deep dark brown pour with a ruby glimt. Head of percolated deep tan. Light aroma of crispy barbequed ribs, light. Flavor is a fairly dissapointing light coffeesque roast, with a touch of bitter chocolate dust and a mediocre floral finish. Smack of peanuts and oak. Ridiculously thin bodied. Salty finish.

Sample at the brewpub: This beer pours dark brown with a medium light beige head that has decent retention. Sticky spots of lace, with a solid ring near the top. The aroma is very roasty with a bit of dark chocolate. Medium-bodied with coffee dominating the flavor, along with a bit of malt in the background. The finish is bittersweet and leaves behind a nice coffee aftertaste. I liked this one pretty well.
