Picked up this growler a week ago at the brew haus, never tried this one or seen it on the menu before so i figured i would give it a try. Labeled as a Sully's Belgian Blonde. Poured from a growler into an imperial pint glass.
A- This one poured a nice straw color and had a fingers worth of head that dissipated rather fast.
S- A big presence of banana and cloves meet you up front with alot of Belgian yeast in the back. Smells pretty close to a hefewiesen but the Belgian yeast sets it apart.
T- Lots of bananas in the front mixed with the Belgian yeast it turns into an almost banana bread like taste followed by sweet malts and a nice fruity punch at the end.
M- Medium bodied, nice and crisp, a little under carbonated.
D- I would say this beer is pretty drinkable if i had the time i could see drinking the growler by myself.
Overall is was a pretty good brew that I am glad I bought. I don't have much experience with this style but i like it much more compared to your typical blonde ale. Keep up the good work black forest, hope this one stays in rotation for a little while, for sure going to pick up more.
