Pours an aggressive head, initially filling 2/3 of a pint glass then settling into three fingers and eventually dissolving, good retention, light on the lacing. The dark yellow liquid achieves opacity without looking like apricot juice. Moderate dankness to the nose, plenty of cocoa and malty scents, lighter wafts of lemon and pine, overall fairly nondescript with no standout element. Medium-bodied, some initial prickly carbonation than it turns sluggish, not a high refreshing quotient. Solid herbaceousness, enough to seem tarry and leafy. That said, wouldn't characterize it as bitter. Modest orange to lemon citrus, floral without any lift. Just not a lot to say here, was an impulse buy walking past the Portland location, figured what the hey.
