This rich Oktoberfest Märzen celebrates the season with Munich malt and German noble hops, pouring a brilliant amber with notes of dark fruit and toasted bread. A full-bodied lager made for cool days, changing leaves, and Maine fall nights.

Appearance: On draft into a pint glass at the Freeport, Maine location. Deep copper color with a little bit of red. Not much head, but the cream colored ring and some small surface bubbles stuck around for a while.
Aroma: Muted malt notes. Dried dark fruit.
Taste: Malty grains. Lightly toasted bread. Mild hop bitterness. Raisins.
Feel: Crisp, medium body, good carbonation. A little dry.
Overall: The malt and hops are very well balanced. The dark fruit comes out more once it settles in temperature, but is not predominant.
Pairing: The brewery is also a pizza joint. The malt and bread characteristics went along decently with pizza dough. The carbonation was able to cut through the fat of the cheese. The malt sweetness would probably be complimented well by onions as a pizza topping.
