Second bottle: 22oz bomber born on 4/24/20 poured into a snifter at room temperature (aged at 53F):
L - Dark as an ex's temper with a rapidly dissipating head. Settles into an oily look
S - Cocoa is diminished after 6 months, malt and bourbon scents dominate, nicely balanced
T - Still wonderful, bourbon, malt and coffee notes, the cocoa nib has definitely diminished but comes back significantly as the beer warms
F - Not as dry now that it's aged another 3 months, light carbonation and a nice balanced mouthfeel
O - Still a great beer that certainly should be drank at room temperature to get the most flavor. I enjoyed the first bottle the most as the cocoa nib flavor was much stronger. I have another bottle in the cellar and I don't think I'll wait much longer....
This is an exceptional beer. Bone dry but full of chocolaty goodness. Sold in a 22 oz bomber it pours well with a nice dark head. Taste is dry and chocolate roasty.
