Gold medalist in the 2019 Meininger’s International Craft Beer Award in the Imperial IPA category.
A strong and decidedly hoppier version of the traditional India Pale Ale. Intense in every aspect.
DIPA After Hours features six hop varieties of American and English origin:
Sabro (USA) is characterized by an exceptionally intense and complex blend of fruity and citrus aromas. Chinook (USA) is a slightly herbal variety with a distinct resinous note and a grapefruit aftertaste. Columbus (USA) has a citrusy, spicy aroma. Cascade (USA) is aromatic with citrus and grapefruit notes. East Kent Goldings (UK), the king of English hops, imparts a wonderful aroma. Finally, Centennial (USA) has incredible citrus aromas.
For those who appreciate hop bitterness and a distinctive flavor, this style is a must-try.

Copenhagen 2/8 2019. 50 cl bottle from AlkoSpot, Chimielna, Gdańsk. Very artistic label with two overlapping silhouette in different shades of Green - one with a Bowler Hat and one with a Indian War Bonnet.
Pours murky orange with a big white head. Fairly stable. Settles as thin, layer of foam covering the surface of the beer. Crawling up the sides of the glass. Substantial lacing.
Aroma is sharp, citric and with a boozy streak. Light odor of sweet fruit like Peach and Melon with a fermented touch. Sharp lightly boozy odor of Grape fruit and Citrus. A bit harsh.
Medium strong carbonation. Slightly thick, oily, sticky, lightly tingling texture.
Flavor is lightly sweet followed by a strong bitterness. Aftertaste is bitter with a sourish twist. Strong presence of alcohol. Lingers for a while.
Decent DIPA even though a bit boozy and rough around the edges. And I will probably never find out what the Magritte guy and the Indian has to do with anything.
