A clean, crisp beer, Kölsch offers a very slight fruity flavor and aroma. It is light gold in color, with a delicate head. This light-bodied beer appeals to nearly everyone who samples it.

Pours a clear pale gold color with plenty of foam in the Zunft Kölsch glass. Aromas of straw, bread, and a flowery hint. Lush and sudsy mouthfeel with a light body. Tastes of cereal with a hoppy note, just a touch of resins in the aftertaste. Overall this is a pleasant lighter sort of brew, but more of a hoppy Blonde Ale than a Kölsch. Quite quaffable, however. From the 16 oz can that somehow found itself on the West Coast. Canned 08/16/23.

Canned 2/9/23 (3 months ago)
Appearance: Pours a mostly clear, light golden color with a moderate white head. SRM of 7. (3.75)
Aroma: Moderate aromas of sweet grape, pale malts, some mild bready yeast.
Flavor: Strong flavors of grape and apple. Followed by a smooth pale bread malt. More yeast then for a fruity finish. Only mildly sweet.
Feel: Medium-bodied, moderate carbonation and yeast. Yet fruity and somewhat juicy on the finish.
Compared to Fair State Köld 5/2023: Pours similar, milder head. Similar aromas. More sweet vinous grape and apple. Less bread and yeast. Juicier and sweeter
Overall: A good Kölsch here. Nice vinous grape and apple flavors. Juicy, but only mildly sweet. A little tooty fruity but still drinks well.
