A: Pours up a dark, ruby red, with a three finger, pinkish white head, middling retention. 3.75
S: Smells like straight up candy. Sweet-tarts, pop rocks, the works. Has touches of creamy sugar, owing to the marshmallow no doubt. It smells like what they put in it by and large, though I think the mango bleeds into the general sweetness of the whole thing. 4
T: I think the finer points are bleeding together here, I get intense fruitiness, I get marshmallow sweetness, I get sourness, but no real depth, no separation. There is a sharp, reductive un-nuanced sugar-laden astringency to the sourness here. 3.5
M: Medium body, dry. 4
O: This is not my thing, but I’ll say, I’d be hard pressed to say you’d be disappointed if this beer sounds appealing to you. Again, totally not my vibe, though I think I can safely say there are some things that could be better executed here (see tasting notes for that). All of this being said, this beer is from 8/27/21 as I write this, so to adjust for that, I’m going to add .25 to my taste metric to be charitable and fair. Still, I’ll say, if this has lost something since it was canned I’d be surprised, it doesn’t show those signs to me. 3.5
