2023 release, an imperial stout aged 22 months in Willett rye barrels. Pour is thiccblack with some iridescent, soapy-looking bubbles collecting around the edge of the glass. Pastry without the additives, as the rye character fights mightily to stand up to the base beer's sweetness. Given the viscosity and overall impression from a matte-glass, waxed bottle, I assume that's what they're going for, but you end up getting less barrel impression than one would expect out of 22 months of ageing. Very enjoyable, but I would trade some thiccness for more barrel any day, which would end up somewhere like a DB VSOD from Revolution.
