Canned 1/27/25
Appearance: Pours a mostly hazy (40% clarity) medium orange color with a strong white head. SRM of 7. (4.00)
Aroma: Strong aromas of orange, passionfruit zest, some of tropical melon and lime, with a pungent grape and passionfruit at the end. (3.75)
Flavor: Strong flavors of passionfruit, grapefruit, some hints of lime with melon and some phenolic passionfruit off the end. (4.25)
Feel: Medium body, appropriate, carbonation, finishes, zesty, and phenolic. (3.75)
Compared to Phase Three Unchecked Imagination 3/25: Pours darker and clearer, stronger aromas. More grapefruit, passionfruit, white grape zest and phenolic notes. Less smooth orange, tropical lime.
Overall: First try at this one. Tripping Animals has some good stuff when fresh. Excellent hop combo with the Motueka and Nelson. Then with some Phantasm as well. The Phantasm gives a phenolic passionfruit flavor right out of the gate. But settling into some nice hop flavor complexity as it sits. One of the best I've had from Tripping Animals. (Rating: 4.02+)
