A NZ hop twist on a pilsner with good success. Very drinkable but with more hop flavor than most Pilsners. I would gladly drink this again in the future. Poured from a pint can.

Unusual Pils based on the hops profile. Tripping Animals calls this a "New Zealand Style Pilsner" and that may become a "thing" at some point!!! Poured into a tall Weizen glass from a 16 oz. can, this beer featured a mostly clear, pale gold color with a medium sized frothy white head. Head retention was better than average and there were light bands of lacing on the glass. Aroma and taste set this beer apart from most Pils. The use of Nelson Sauvin and Riwaka hops provide a unique flavor, like the difference between an AIPA and a NEIPA!!! These hops provide a white wine and tropical fruit presence to a style that usually features milder maltiness and grassy hops. These enhanced flavors do not take anything away from the clean, crisp style. They are subtle enough for a traditional Pils lover to still enjoy the beer, Mouthfeel is light and crisp, like a good Pils should be. The richer flavor and hoppiness other than the mild traditional grassy hops make this closer to a new style than a traditional Pils featuring German hops. I liked this beer and would seek it out again.
