Pours a brightly hazy golden orange with 2-3 fingers of tight bubbly white head.
Aroma strongly citrus - grapefruit, orange - but with a floral note, moderately weedy - hints of pineapple/tropical, and a whiff of piney resin and some dank sweaty character.
Taste starts with notes of ripe orange, orange peel, lemony, herbal and earthy hops; there is some tropical fruit sweetness, pineapple, stone fruit, but this is pushed aside by an astringent bitterness - citrus peel, grapefruit pith that becomes a bit taxing deep into the pint.
Medium mouthfeel with decent carbonation - leaves palate with a bittersweet coating that lingers more bitter than sweet.
Not a bad beer by any stretch but not the West Coast IPA I was expecting, with that crisp sharp and balanced bittersweet stickiness I anticipated. Decent hazy though.

Appearance - Pours a copper amber with four fingers of frothy white head.
Smell - citrus, piney, earthy, floral, and leafy hops, pine resin, citrus and orange peel, peach, nectarine, hint of pineapple, bready malts, and earthy yeast.
Taste - bold citrus, piney, earthy, floral, and leafy hops upfront. The brew then goes into the pine resin, citrus and orange peel, peach, nectarine, and hint of pineapple. The bready malts and earthy yeast round out the brew.
Mouthfeel - Medium bodied with moderate carbonation. Finishes sticky with the hops and fruits lingering.
Overall - A bold west coast IPA from S.Y.C. This brew displays elements of a traditional IPA and a New England IPA very well. This one is definitely a winner and a nice find here in Cowtown.
