Brought back from Krosno by my loving sister. Thanks Jen! 500ml brown glass with a school bus yellow and black label.
Pours a sandy gold color, a little on the brownish side of golden lager, capped off with a thin drizzle of foam. The head dies to a thin collar after a couple sips. Surprisingly, some lacework does cling to the glass.
Smells of grainy, crackery malt, with a bit of a boozy note. Fairly clean, with a soapy hop background. Relatively clean.
For 7%, this doesn't pack much flavor. Dry, crackery malt carries all the way through, unhindered by much besides a light grassy taste and some green apple tartness. Mild, metallic/soapy hopping provides adequate bitterness in the finish, leaving off with an oyster-cracker, slightly alcoholic aftertaste. Overall, on the sweet side. The carbonation is cracklingly bright, which does provide a pleasant mouthfeel.
Probably the least enjoyable brew I've had from my family's homeland. I've had better strong lagers from Poland, but the bottle is still very much appreciated and enjoyed. I refer to this one as "Sloshkie" as Mom continues to laugh at my butchering of the Polish language.
