Small space located in a shared building. Interior is dimly lit, with decor that mashes hipster, clean concrete and industrial with British pub. Old school filament bulbs light up the space, with dark paneled walls soaking up loads of light. A few small televisions host football (soccer) matches, but it's far from a sports bar. Seating caters to individuals at a short bar, a shared high top, and a few booths. An open spot at the bar allows patrons to order without having to do so over the shoulder of others consuming at the bar. Staff was very friendly and helpful, and eager to chat about cask, their beers, and the city when not pouring a beer. Beer to-go is all in 500mL bottles in a refrigerator. Tap selection focuses mostly on milds and bitters, but there are occasionally other styles brewed for the cask system. Occasional guest taps appear sporadically. Special tappings take place on Friday nights. All beer is served on cask and as such is a little warmer than traditional keg taps, something the bartender had to explain to more than one person on my short visit - so be aware the beer is a touch warmer than the traditional 'ice cold' beverages many Americans seek.
Well worth a visit for those seeking out a relaxed atmosphere and/or some killer cask ales.
