Having this beer on-tap. Served in a glass that resembles a tulip glass but isn’t quite one, this beer draws a very dark brown color with a slightly tan/off-white head that’s a good inch thick when first drawn and served. Settles to some nice big cluster swirls of foam on the beer’s surface and a very thick ring lining the inside of the glass. Aromas of roasted, bready malts with some caramel sweetness and some rye notes. The taste is pretty similar, with toasted, bready caramel malt sweetness upfront that’s followed by hints of chocolate and certainty some rye spice. Has an earthy, herbal hop flavor to round out the flavor profile. Has a somewhat crisp, slightly syrupy and chewy, also smooth, medium to full bodied mouthfeel with moderate carbonation. Has a clean finish with a slightly dry and sweet aftertaste. An enjoyable beer here.
