12oz can poured into a tulip. Pours a glowing amber with auburn and reddish hues; nice clarity and transparency; fluffy and creamy light khaki head that falls slowly leaving great thick retention and sticky frothy lacing. Great color. The aromas have some subtle hints of banana and bubblegum. Yeasts and malts do their thing. The flavors basically follow the nose. More banana and bubblegum. Some pear and green apples coming through. Some dark fruits, specifically raisins and plums. Subtle spice. Yeasts do their thing along with a solid malt backbone. It finishes with a little bitterness going on. Mild alcohol flavors, but it's not warm, hot or boozy at all. Mouthfeel is full-bodied with moderate carbonation. It's very fluffy, creamy, smooth and dangerously drinkable.
This is a pretty solid "Americanized" example of the style. It has everything that you'd look for in the style, more or less. The bitterness in the finish caught me off guard at first, but it quickly becomes normal as you get into it. Not bad at all. It's enjoyable stuff.
