Been here numerous times as I work nearby, so I've had a chance to try quite a few of their beers. Overall vibe is cool industrial, somewhat spare furnishings; I dig this look, but the wife was not a fan. Food: Very good. Pita and hummus was fine, pretty standard. The Reuben was delicious; the chicken sandwich was absolutely phenomenal, and will probably be my go-to from now on.

However, the real reason to come to Funky Picnic is for the beers, which they change out with regularity. The standards (as far as I can tell) are all top-notch, especially the easier-drinking ones: the Mexican lager, the kolsch, the DIPA, the peanut butter stout and especially the hefeweizen should all be tried. They have also had numerous other, more-experimental beers, and they hit more than they miss. All in all, don't leave FW without hitting up FP.

This newly opened brewery is a cool space very in line with many hip craft breweries. While the quality of the food is very high, though also very expensive, the beer has a ways to go to be a true draw. Most of the beers are average at best, with the ESB being the standout. The Funky Picnic crew does provide outstanding service and the owner was making the rounds both times we've visited. Having just opened, the beer selection is good; about seven, and I’m sure that will increase as they mature. As previously mentioned, the casual selection of sandwiches, salad, and snacks is of high quality and tasty. However, be prepared to pay $12-15 for a small-medium sandwich with no side. We’ll be back once they release some new beers.
