a hazy ipa here done with blood orange and well hopped. its hazy sure, but its a crazy color of orange in the glass, really almost crayon toned with a little pink to it, a frothy and beautiful pour. the aroma and flavor are pretty close to identical here, with the blood orange apparent but not too sweet, very much natural, the hops dry hoppy and low bitter, but packed with southern hemisphere fruitiness thats fully compatible, including lime, cantaloupe, and mango notes, and the fermentation pretty clean, definitely a summer mix of flavors and one of the better beers i had from these guys while we were in. the grain is a little heavy in feel here, but remains dry and subtle in flavor, pale cereal complexion to it, no sweetness at all, and with a slight rawness about it, some unmalted wheat maybe in the mash. the blood orange really pops, hits like soda for a second, but settles back into a more natural state quickly, a little acidity and bitterness from the peel in the background becomes more appreciable as it warms. a tasty drinker here, nice on a hot afternoon, could stand a little more carbonation or a little less body to be fully refreshing, but they have a good one going here.
