Pours crystal clear, brass color, great creamy head settles at 1 finger. Good lacing.
Aroma is pizza dough, a whiff of euro herbal hops and light sulfur. Cold out of the fridge (not my beer fridge) it tastes like crackery malt herbal hop bite lingering beneath it all. It is very good. Dry but not bone dry. Zesty carb, lingering flavor and malt-hop profile. A nice beer.
As it warms it maintains a character of white bread crust and herbal-medicinal hops with a hint of sweetness at the finish. However the fruitiness of the yeast comes out more and the sweetness of the malt becomes rounder and a teeny, tiny bit more wort-like. It isn't bad and it's still to style, but ice cold versus proper service temp is the difference between a great beer and a good beer. Since a great beer shouldn't need to be masked by cold I'm going to rate it somewhere between. Glad to see it was popular enough to keep making.
