Brewed with burdock root. Tested from a 750ml crowler. Collaboration with Botony Brewfarm from Glenwood City WI.
A mild brown/dark ale is the base beer. but does have Munich Dunkel elements to it.
Look: dark brown slightly murky body that is reddish when held to the beer light, Some light gets thru the body. Great head: off white, tall, thick, very fine and persists for a very long time leaving some lacing.
Smell: low aroma with hints of coffee, earth, bread, spice
Taste: follows the nose exactly almost. Has sweet and bitter elements, but finishes slightly dry. The spice is hard to describe. But I get flavors of brown bread almost like pumpernickle, rye, herbal, root beer, cinnamon, grain and maybe a micro hint of clove. The coffee flavor is similar to but not exactly like coffee. This beer is smooth, and very balanced, no flavor dominates.
Feel is slightly thin but for 4.3% it's really not thin. Plenty of but not too much carbonation.
I like this beer, it's something different. It's interesting trying pick out the different flavors. They did a good job on this experimental beer.
