Malt forward flavors from UK Golden Promise and American 2-Row are balanced with the light hoppy goodness of Northern Brewer and East Kent Golding giving this slightly sweet red ale a unique place in our growing line up of ales. Occasionally available in house as a nitro offering.

A: crystal clear; bronze colored; a 1 finger finely pored tan head that receded to a moderate, tight collar; OK lacing;
S: sweet malt, nutty, bready, toffee;
T: sweet malt undertones throughout; toffee and caramel are pronounced, although the finish is moderately bitter;
M: medium bodied; moderate carbonation; moderately dry finish that continued to dry out in the aftertaste;
O: a good reflection of the style;

Very slight hop compliments classic red ale malt presentation. Solid feel just a bit heavier than a pale ale. Great color upon the pour with a modest head. Really comfortable beer, nice to have with a hearty meal.

Classic Irish Red Ale. Amply rich in malt flavor, smooth, and .reasonably full in body, An excellent sample of Irish Red; .another excellent Geaghans beer. And, naturally . .would work well for an interesting black and tan.

Nice red ale. Sort of earthy taste, decent hopping. Clean aroma. Sort of overpriced $9.99 a six. A lot more expensive than excellent imports from overseas...

I tried this at the restaurant location near the Hollywood Hotel in downtown Bangor whilst there on vacation. The beer poured a clear amber with thin white head that left some lace. The scent had faint hints of malt. The taste was nicely balanced and easy to drink with subtle sweet malt and crisp finish. The mouthfeel was lighter in body with good carbonation. Overall its a decent beer.
