Fogtown was founded in Ellsworth, Maine by long time friends Jon Stein and Ian Heyse, who wanted to create a community space that would foster art, music, education, craft food and drink, and all-around good vibes. Head brewer, Jon Stein, began home brewing as a small child and continued to hone his craft working and studying at breweries around the world. Both Jon and Ian have ample experience in construction and general problem solving, and have designed and built their brewery from scratch using reclaimed timbers and barnboard and any other curious items they could scavenge.

Nice little brewery located in the middle of Bar Harbor. Good selection of beers with some flights available. Beer-to-go in cans is also available. Nice little cool place to stop for a drink while in Bar Harbor.

Very unassuming location & brewery, however, they do a great job of offering plenty of beer selections. A great vibe in coastal Maine, this is worth seeking out. Food menu was not extensive but, in my opinion, this is a plus (believe they had food trucks). The focus is clearly on the beer. Worth stopping by and having a beer.

Very interesting place. All outdoors, at least during covid. The beer garden is awesome, it's like a real garden with raised flower, vegetable, and herb gardens, and huge raspberry bush. A few tents and picnic tables scattered about, all with umbrellas. It's a nice quiet area as well. They have a permanent good truck in Eat At Joe's, which I didn't get anything but it looked good. The only bathroom at the moment was a porta potty and portable sink next to it.

They have what looks like an outdoor bar, and smoker, neither were open. There were 7 beers on draft, all their own, a few styles. I know They make a bunch of styles I was excited to try but they didn't have any of those pouring at the time I went. They also had a seltzer and cider on draft. Styles of beer were a few lagers, session IPA, sour, a rye, and couple stouts.

The one bartender was friendly.

Def worth a stop by if just for the beer garden atmosphere, and try a few of the beers.

Outdoor sampling because of covid-19. Pleasant locale three blocks from Main Street in Ellsworth. Relatively quiet except for the occasional muscle car or Harley coming by.

There are nine "beers" on tap (one was a cider, another a hard seltser). The seven remaining were very different from one another.

The service came in the form of ordering from a window. The person was pleasant and knowledgeable about the beers.

Hard to get a feel for this place during Social Distancing. I ordered at a window. They brought my beer to me and I took a seat in their beer garden. It truly was a garden. They had a plot with herbs and vegetables growing. The beer was solid. A few choices were on tap. Quite a few were in cans. They had some seltzers, too.

New brewery to the area and some very interesting, and some surprisingly good, very different, but good. I had a flight of four beers and all were quite different than what I think of as “Normal” fare for breweries. Quite the opposite. Who ever the brewer is has a lot of fun and for my four beers he hit the spot. Well done and I could highly recommend this brewery as well as the food truck menu.
