Hardcastle’s Irish Red starts with a wallop of caramel and dried fruit notes in the nose, and features a lightly bready body and crisp finish.

Just in time for St. Patrick’s Day. Sláinte!

Decent foamy bubbly, good retention and lacing, clear cherry red

Nose nice sweet toasty reddish malts, little caramel toffee sweetness, biscuity toffee, little malt derived fruit esters, just a touch of grassy hop

Taste more mild sweet toasted reddish grainy malts, hint of bread crust, mild sweet biscuity toffee, nice bright fruity malt derived esters, bright plum and almost cherry or berry fruit, and red apple, grainy sweet, hint of hop bitterness to balance, almost sweet creamy

Mouth is med bodied, a little light on the carb but ok, creamy soft you almost lager like

Overall this was very nice

Enjoyed on tap at the brewery today.

A - Poured a nice crystal clear ruddy garnet hue along with a thin off white head that fades to leave light lacing and a thin blanket.

S - Aromas of fruity caramel sauce, dried fruit, good bready malts. Rather nice light sweetness. Rather pleasant.

T - Taste is similar to the nose with loads of toasted malts, nice bready malts, good flashes of malt sweetness, good lingering fruity bitterness. Very pleasant.

M - Mouthfeel is lightly carbonated, good body, refreshing.

O - Overall this was a very solid Irish Red. Great doughy malts and fried fruit. Really really pleasant.
