Our modern take on the classic American IPA, Benicia features a big hop aroma and flavor with notes of pine, melon, mango, and strawberry. Benicia drinks clean and crisp with a just-strong-enough caramel malt backbone and fairly bitter finish.

Enjoyed on tap at the brewery today.
A - Poured a nice crystal clear light honey hue with a real fat one finger creamy white head that fades to leave sticky lacing and a super dense blanket. Just excellent retention!
S - Aromas of really bright hops. Nice assertive mango notes, little bit of pine resin along with flashes of light melon. Really light malt sweetness as well.
T - Taste is similar to the nose with nice pine resin notes that don't get aggressively bitter. Flashes of lighter melon as well. The tropical mango is nice but a bit overpowered by the pine flavour. Finish is mild.
M - Mouthfeel is lightly carbonated, crisp, clean.
O - Overall this was a solid ipa that harkens back to the pre haze craze that grips New England now. Personally, I wish the mango popped a bit more on the flavour but overall it was a solid beer.
