Introducing DARK & SUNNY (6.6%) - our tropical stout! Think stouts are winter-only beers? Stouts - especially tropical stouts and foreign export stouts - are historically some of the most popular beer styles in hot climates around the world. Brewed with molasses, DARK & SUNNY is full-bodied with a big aroma of chocolate and coffee, strong flavors of brown sugar and dark fruit, and a pleasantly bitter finish. It's perfect for sipping on a hot summer night!

Poured a very dark chocolate brown color with a 4F head in a tulip.
Light aroma of malt and coconut and a macaroon flavor ( neither in the beer).
Very smooth and semi creamy MF.
Excellent taste which changes with warming. Colder- chocolate, coffee, some molasses.
Warming- more roasted malt.
Excellent beer. Light, but with lots of flavor.

Draft at the brewery
Big creamy bubbly tan head with great retention, soapy lacing, jet black beer when no light coming through

Nose very dark roasty malt, roasted grains but not acrid or burnt, a bit charred, into dark roasted coffee and flash of molasses, some dark chocolate with light fruity notes, and hint of spicy earthy hop

Taste creamy rich dark malts, again very toasty and a bit charred but not acrid or burnt, then dark chocolate and roasted coffee, some raw molasses with flash of dark fruits but not much, little nougat and caramel candy in the background, bit of fudge too, medium bitterness mixed from light earthy spicy hops but also from the roast, dry spicy bitterness on the finish,

Mouth is fuller bod, rich thick chewy, heavy like but without the alcohol, medium carb

Overall quite nice, very well done foreign export, calling it a tropical stout is very questionable, but for a foreign export this was great

Enjoyed on tap at the brewery today.

A - Poured a great dark brown almost black with a thick mocha head that fades to leave rather sticky side lacing and a thin blanket.

S - Big aromas of slightly bitter dark chocolate and milk chocolate. Excellent roasted coffee little nutty and roasty followed by side light molasses and brown sugar. Nose really pops.

T - Taste is similar to the nose with loads of slightly sweet chocolate and light bitterness, good sweet brown sugar, tons of bright coffee and a touch of acidic bitterness which is wild as there's no actual coffee in here. A touch of chalky chocolate and a lingering bitterness.

M - Mouthfeel is nicely carbonated, little crisp, good dry finish with pleasant body.

O - Overall this was a really really good foreign export stout. The roast notes here are excellent, tons of chocolate and coffee notes here. The beer really pops; super true to style.
