The Birds, a double IPA brewed with Falconer’s Flight hops, pops with a complex hop aroma of tropical and citrus fruits, floral notes, and pine. Medium-bodied with a touch of honey notes and a slightly bitter finish.

Pours a dark orange with a small foamy head and lots of lacing.
Smells of piney hops and citrus. Tastes of sweet citrus with a very mild bitter finish.
Medium / light body with light carbonation. Lightly syrupy mouthfeel.
This is a very pleasant NEIPA. It is well made and mild mannered. Folks who don't like overly bitter IPAs should like this one.

Poured a dark amber color with a 4F head in a Spielgelau IPA glass.
Aroma: pine, citrus, tropical fruit.
MF: smooth, semi-syrupy, piney, honey.
Taste: the flavors broaden with pronounced pine, tropical fruit and citrus.
Moderately hoppy finish.
Another excellent beer from Redemption Rock.
Best served at 45° to bring out the full flavor profile.

NO can date but picked up last week so should be fresh
Pours a large foamy frothy almost 2 finger head with great retention, soapy lacing, very hazy cloudy med orange color
Nose is quite nice, I do like Falconer's FLight... big grapefruit zest up front, a little doughy creamy base malt and citrus bringing a lemon cake, adding a touch of dank pine, spicy, and some grassy notes, little fruity esters and hint of perfumey alcohol
Taste brings mild sweet doughy malts, with more of that citrusy lemon cake, lots of citrus, fresh citrus zest spritz, grapefruit zest and a little pith, a bit of fruity pebbles but not in a bad way, creamy doughy malt with a bit of sweetness, med bitterness up front, a touch of perfumey alcohol and more fruity esters mostly citrus, hops getting more lemony and flowery floral late, a touch of pine as well, mild dry finish, flash of alcohol and med grassy herbal hops with more citrus zest lingering, a little hop or citrus oil as well
Mouth is med to fuller bod, med carb, just a flash of warming alcohol
Overall pretty solid DIPA, especially in this world of NEIPAs and DNEIPAS, this was a nice normal DIPA, great hop presence and good malt balance, easy drinking for how big the beer is, enjoyable and another very well done beer from Redemption Rock!

Split a 4 pack of this with JLindros.
A - Poured into my Duvel tulip a very nice hazy, not milkshake haze either, dark golden orange hue with a very fat two finger creamy off white head that faded very slowly to leave thick sticky side lacing and a very dense blanket. Really, really impressive.
S - Aromas of lightly floral hops, slightly slightly grassy, little tiny bit of bitter pine intermixed with bitter grapefruit peel. Pleasant aromas of generic tropical fruit and a little bit of lemon as well.
T - Taste is similar to the nose with bright, vibrant citrus notes of orange and bitter grapefruit peel and pith. Little citrus oil as well. Flashes of a bitter pine on the finish but never gets earthy. The topical notes are nice, mostly generic nondescript with flashes of pineapple. The grapefruit and pine bitterness wind up washing out the tropical a little bit, though, I do get some subtle over ripe pineapple as it warms up more.
M - Mouthfeel is nicely carbonated, little crisp, nice body. Just a super small hint of warming alcohol on the finish.
O - Overall this was a very enjoyable DIPA. Great use of Falconer's Flight hops here as you have that great oily citrus, pine, and little bit of sweeter tropical fruit to round things out. While one doesn't really need yet another hoppy beer I definitely think this 'The Birds' is an improvement over last years iteration. Very enjoyable and balanced.
