NO can date
Pours a rich frothy almost 1 finger tan head with good retention, sticky lacing, hazy almost opaque auburn dark red to brownish color
Nose sweet malts, some caramel, rich toffee, biscuity, toasted sweet bread crust, brown sugar molasses, caramelized sugars, mild baking spices, touch of dark dried fruits
Taste starts with more of the sweet characters but not actually too sweet, molasses and brown sugar, with more nutty rich toffee, biscuity like candy bark, nutty, mild baking spices and pie filling like spices, more caramelized toasted grain, candied bread crust and toasted, semi sweet finish but a bit dried, flash of smooth alcohol, a bit of bitterness
Mouth is med to fuller bod, med to a bit higher frothy carb, very light warming alcohol
Overall pretty nice old ale, more straight drinking than aging version, good winter beer
