I visited Headless Mumby when passing through Olympia a couple weeks ago. On my visit, they had 7 beers on tap plus a cask and a cider. There's a focus on lagers, with two American lagers, a German pils, a hoppy pils, Czech dark, smoked rye lager, and an amber.

I had a taster tray and everything was quite decent, although the standouts for me were the smoked rye lager and the Bonus Track hoppy pilsner, with a very New Zealand-y tropical character that worked for me.

They've got a nice build out with warm wood accents and kind of an airy space; you can't sit up at the bar, but there are "wall-bar" spots looking into the brewery and out the windows. Service is friendly at the ordering station. It looks like they have events here pretty frequently, on my visit they were having a record-swap day, which is cool.

Not my type of place, but the Smoked Rye was excellent, even if the rye was mostly over powered by the smokiness. This small lager-focused brew space is located in a strip mall with limited parking. Cement floor, burnt orange walls, an orange brown painted drop ceiling and yellow gold table chairs out of a cheesy wedding venue from the seventies, let you know that decor was the lowest priority of this establishment. I was there around 6pm on a Thursday, during their early evening trivia event, which I thought was lame, but the mixed crowd of 30s /40s /50+ crowd was fully engaged. There was a turntable with an Allman Brothers record teed up, but when the trivia game ended and the music started, you could barely hear it. The place was warm, without an fans, and if there was A/C, it wasn’t working too well. I would have liked to try their Dark Czech, Altbier and /or German Pils, but l needed more than just a soft pretzel (which was good) to sustain me and I left after just one beer.
