Poured into a Black Raven pint glass. Pours a slightly hazy, medium golden amber with a thin white head that dissipates to patches with slight lacing. Aroma of slightly sweet biscuit malt, mild citrus and grassy hops, lemon, hints of light stone fruit. Flavor is mildly biscuit and pale malt with some rice sweetness, grassy hops, lemon, mild light stone fruit developing mid-taste. Dry, citrus and grassy hop finish. Medium bodied with light to moderate creaminess. A different take on a rice lager. The base malt tastes a lot like a domestic adjunct lager, but the rice gives it a different kind of mild sweetness. More interesting fruit flavors develop in the taste and the finish is much more like a pale ale than adjunct lager. Kind of subtle, but I like the flavor progression and finish quite a bit. Worth trying if you like variations on the lager style. Rated to enjoyment rather than style, I'm not a big rice lager fan and this is definitely more interesting.
