On tap at Greensboro brewery into pint glass. Pours lightly hazy ruby red color with a small dense light pink head with good retention and spotty soapy lacing on the glass. Nose is 100% raspberry jam and cocoa/coffee. Taste of tart/tangy raspberry, cherry, fruit skin/seed, caramel, toffee, toast, vanilla, cream, biscuit, light cocoa/coffee, wood, peppercorn, pine, herbal, floral, grass. Medium pine/herbal bitter and tart/tangy fruit finish. Balanced creamy bready malts, sticky/resinous hop, acidic mouthfeel. Lingering resin drying with no astringency. Well made base amber ale and balanced tart fruit jam/lactose flavors. A little weird but i like it.
