I got this bottle for my 55th birthday from Roy. I know this brewery a bit. They are located very near the Dutch border on an industrial compound. Next to the brewery they have a big beershop.
Now about the beer. Poured in my small Struise glass the beers starts really nice....but only for a short while. The head disappears fast leaving a small ring. Dark tea like fluid. Smells a bit sour but that is something i did not get in the taste (happily!).
Taste is rather flat with hardly any hints. Very little sweetness. Next beer!

Pours a nice medium tan head, dissipates over a minute or two, but leaves a good lace and film. Colour is a quite dark reddish brown, active carbonation.
Smell is quite light and lively. Has a strong fruity and phenolic character, lots of crisp bitter apples, light red wine vinegar, dark roasted malt, hops are light.
Taste is initially malty, with a good apple fruitiness. Light spiciness, and for the dark malt character remains very refreshing. A slight sourness develops. Not bad for sure, but in terms of complexity it falls a bit sort of the better examples. Hops are pretty light, the whole thing could be tied together a bit tighter.
Mouthfeel is medium bodied and very smooth, a bit creamy. Quite drinkable and lively on the palate. After taste is quite short, creamy.
Its a good beer, and worth trying. Pretty light for the style. Refreshing and easy-drinking, but not as earth-shaking as other examples. Good brew though, I'd have it again.
