A: Pours murky orange with lots of sediment. The medium large white head is kind of compact and sinks into decent lacings.
S: Yeasty and slightly spicy. Loads of green, but also red apples. Citric. Sweet. Not very complex.
T: Malt and some hops, but fruit is more dominant; citrus and apples. Rather rich alcoholic taste. Sour.
M: Sour and bitter aftertaste. Body is medium as well is the carbonation. Rather strong influence by the high ABV.
O: This was the strangest Quad ever - I would have guessed Belgian Strong Pale Ale... Where are the dried dark fruits?

Brown 33cl bottle, best before 12-2012, poured into a Hoegaarden Grand Cru badged stemmed tulip glass.
I left a few centimeters of beer in the bottle to ensure I got the true colours and tastes before pouring the reminder into my glass once I'd consummed the first pour.
Pale amber in colour, wispy white covering on top, no real head because of my cautious initial pour. I got a better covering when I emptied the sediment remains and the rest of the bottle into my glass later.
Yeasty aroma, some spices appear to be in there too. An apple feel also arrives as the beer settles in the glass.
The mouthfeel is spritzy and sharp, the taste an alcoholic blend of citrusy hops, sweet, yet light molasses and mixed herbs. Another sweet ingrediant appears as the beer warms, which begins to turn the beer from interesting to unbalanced.
I can't claim to be an expert on quads, but this isn't my idea of this style, pleasant enough but lacks body and depth for the alcohol content. I prefer the sweeter beers to the extra dry hoppy ones, but this is just too much for me in the sweet stakes. Having said that, once I'd poured the sediment and remainer of the beer into my glass it wasn't such a sweet drink anymore: so perhaps the whole bottle should have gone in from the start.

Bottle at Delirium after asking for a good Quad. A Quad it was not. From notes.
A - Poured with a 2.5 finger thick white head. Dark orange body with yeast chunks and good retention and good lacing.
S - Really powerful nose of zestiness, yeast, spritsiness, and grassiness.
T - Hop is quite present with zestiness, sprits, orange, and sweet notes. Fairly hoppy too.
M - Medium body with emdium carbonation. Bitter, zesty finish.
O/D - Nice. Definately a Tripel or a Strong Blonde but not a Quad. Nice taste going on with strong yeast and other flavours melded in.
