330 ml bottle, at home, poured into a Guinness pint glass. ABV 5,3%
Light orange golden colour, just a tiny bit hazy, with a big white, soapy head. Very good retention, light lacing on the glass.
Aroma is yeasty, with light fruit notes.
Lots of malts on the taste with floral notes. Quite bitter on the aftertaste with a long finish.
Medium thin on the body, light carbonation.
Good session beer.

pours a huge almost white head that lingers around for some time before it reduces to a thin layer leaving no lacing on my Croy Tulip glass. The body is a murky orange - looks unfiltered.

my nose is slightly clogged from the latev autumn breezes but I clearly get the hops and something flowery that is difficult to name. Quite interesting.

The taste is a big disappointment considering the nose and good looks. It is really bitter for a Belgian blonde and doesn't show the sweetness inherent of its supposed style. It is more an IPA without complexity.

I also don't like the feel of this one. Seemingly there is enough carbonation but it still tastes stale and watery.

Overall I think this is a failure. The Scheldebrouwerij has some decent beers and I do like a simple Belgian blonde, but this half-hearted take on an IPA with dry-hopping doesn't work in my opinion. Maybe if the sweetness of a Belgian ale would still be there or the body and full flavor of an IPA. But the result here is neither this nor that.

33cl Bottle on 22 Oct 2012 @ Cafe De Grendelpoort, Valkenburg, Holland.

Mild hazy gold/old gold colour with a good but fading head.

The nose is fruity and grassy with floral notes.

The taste is also floral, but with some malt content now showing along with a mini-hop bite.

Nothing to get excited about, but a different brew and taste to all the other beers I had while on this Valkenburg visit.
