From the growler via the brewery in a snifter. This solid dubbel
pours a red tinged mahogany brown with a light head of off white
foam that dissipates to a thin ring and light dusty layer. Nose of
dark fruits, subtle phenol notes from the yeast, light date and fig,
and light brown sugars. Flavors follow the nose with fig and date
along with subtle spicy notes from the yeast with light brown
sugar and a p[pleasant raisin note mingling with light vinous
elements. Nice mouth feel; medium body, light carbonation,
and a subtly dry finish that is lightly sweet. Of note there are
light touches of cherry with warmth.
Overall, a solid little dubbel and a brewery worth checking
out.
Cheers
