Naked Lollipop Passionfruit Orange Guava (POG) from Froth Brewing. 16 fl oz can. $ 4.00 (Including tax), $ 0.25/fl oz. Picked up at Franklin Beer, Franklin, PA. Reviewed 10/01/25 (Review 3442). Note that I use DD/MM/YY protocol.
Undated can. Stored in reefer at the distributor, at 39 degrees F at home. Served at 43.8 degrees F in a hand washed and dried Jester King snifter. The final temperature was 48.3 degrees F.
Appearance – 4.
First pour – Straw (SRM 3), clear.
Body – Deep Gold (SRM 6), hazy. Under direct light, same. When rear-lite, glows orange.
Head: Average (Maximum 1.5 cm, aggressive center pour), white, medium density. Quickly drops to a 0.15 cm bubble ring fed by spotty carbonation and no cap.
Lacing – None.
Aroma – 4 – Begins with guava and orange. No malt, no hops, no yeast, no ethanol (7.2 % ABV, as marked on label). No disulfide or diacetyl.
Flavor – 4 – Less guava-forward than the nose – more orange and passionfruit, mashed together. No yeast, no ethanol. No disulfides, no diacetyl. Slightly tart with faint gastric warming.
Palate – 4 – Medium; watery; lively but soft carbonation.
Style: Follows the style guidelines as condensed by BA.
Final impression and summation: 3.75 (After deducting 0.25 point for an undated personal container) In this one, passionfruit is actually tastable. Guava and orange are well balanced and do not dominate the flavor. Very refreshing.
